Biography

Lowell Ling is a Clinical Associate Professor at The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and works as a consultant intensivist at Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong. He received undergraduate medical training at University of London and completed a Master of Philosophy from University of Cambridge. He and his research team use epidemiological, clinical and genomic approaches to understand and treat sepsis. He was awarded Young Distinguished Fellow by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. He is the Secretary of the Asian Critical Care Clinical Trials Group and member of the Asia Pacific Sepsis Alliance.

Research Interests

• Epidemiology of sepsis, infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance
• Molecular diagnostics for pathogen detection and sepsis-associated organ dysfunction
• Clinical management of sepsis and septic shock
